Getting started with Kairos EDI
Walk through creating your first trading partner, a mapping, and running an EDI file end-to-end.
Kairos EDI is a full X12 lifecycle console: connect a trading partner, pick an X12 template, map fields, upload a real file, and get validated output plus a functional acknowledgment.
1. Create a connection
Under /app/connections, add a partner and pick a driver (SFTP, AS2, mailbox, API). The driver is how Kairos physically moves files with that partner.
2. Pick a vendor overlay
Search the vendor library for your partner (Availity, Walmart, Epic, …). Selecting a vendor auto-applies envelope defaults, required fields, and fixed values so mappings satisfy that vendor's implementation guide.
3. Create a mapping
In /app/mappings, choose an X12 template (850, 837P, 835, …), name the mapping, and map each element's source field. The AI copilot proposes source-field + transform for gaps.
4. Upload and preview
Drop an X12 file at /app/upload. Kairos parses envelope + segments, highlights any errors, and lets you generate a 997 or 999 acknowledgment.
5. Track transactions
/app/transactions is the history of every inbound and outbound run — with download, retry, and outbox delivery status.
