Uploading & previewing EDI
How the upload flow parses ISA/GS/ST envelopes, validates segments, and surfaces per-element errors.
The upload page accepts any well-formed X12 file. The parser is pure TypeScript and runs locally in your browser — no payload leaves the tab.
What the parser validates
- ISA envelope structure (delimiters, sender/receiver, control number)
- GS/GE and ST/SE control-number matching
- Segment counts (SE01 must equal the number of included segments)
- Required segments and required elements per transaction template
- Element data type and length (basic checks)
Reading the preview
Each transaction card lists validated segments. Segments with issues expand automatically and clicking an issue scrolls to the offending element.
